KEEPING YOU RIDING WITHOUT WAITING!! 6/08/09 - Well the turn out was a little down at Byron for Nuke 4 because of the prospect of rain and a really ugly looking weather radar in the morning, but those that took a chance and came out, got treated to a perfect track (a little dry if anything), plus we handed out over $400 worth of Sunline Grip Kits for holeshot awards, Special thanks, to Pete R and the scorers on th hill top track for tracking that for us. Unfortunatly James Povolny had van troubles on the way up and had to turn around but he said he would try and make it up here for a few of the Nuke rounds. Met a lot of nice people this weekend. THANKS to everyone that came over to the SF Performance camp to talk to us! TZ was busy all day talking with people and helping them out. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again! 5/26/09 - Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend. Next Nuke race at Motorsports park on June 7th is sponsored by SF Performance. We have a few things planned. Many of you know our head wrench Tom Zont, he is one of the best in the business with motors and suspension. We will be offering discounts on work that is scheduled at the event. We will also be giving out hole-shot awards for all 1st motos (both tracks). James Polvolny is coming up, so come out and watch some great racing and get an autograph. It is also a Kawasaki Contingency event! See you at the races! Steve Frye 4/14/09 - There's been a lot going on (that's why no updates for a while. We are busier in our service dept. than ever before. (Turn around is still good but please call to schedule any major work). Had some setbacks with the Dyno room. Venting wasn't enough, so we had to tear it out and redesign it, and we had some software issues. I think we have both issues addressed and will be running a bike on it again this week. I will update here as soon as I have some news. Getting ready for outdoors if the weather will ever break!! SF Performance is sponsoring Round 4 of the Motorsports Park Nuclear Series!! WE WILL HAVE SPECIALS AT THE TRACK SO COME ON OUT! DEATAILS CLICK HERE 1/12/09 - Well, the Sears Centre Arenacross was completely DOMINATED by SF Performance. James Povolny and Cameron Lansing won just about every qualifier they were in and JP went 4-1-1-1 on the mains and Cameron went 3-5-3-and a dnf after crashing while in second place. Also had some good performances, making mains by Derek Whitney and Mike Akaydin but a little bad luck keeping them off the podium. Great job also to some of our amatuer riders, Eric Utech and Alex Nagy, Brad Behrens, Tom Kraeplin and the Lopez family (that made up most of the 50 class). Great Job to all of you, and we would like to say THANK YOU to all of our sponsored riders for all the hard work - Steve, Chris and TZ For those who didn't see it here is a link a nice article on Racer X's website about James Povolny. This machine allows us to cut multi angle as well as radius cut seats. It is also faster than cutting by hand so you can get back to riding sooner! We are excited to announce that we have purchased a State of the art chassis dynometer to improve our R&D of our racing engines, and also to aid our tuning of the new fuel injected machines. Setup has been slow but only becuase we are extremely busy in the service dept. We should be ready soon to do dyno runs on not only Dirt Bikes but on ATV's and Sreet Bikes as well. We bought this dyno brand new and this major purchase shows our commitment to building the best bikes on the track. 9/15/08 The EVS Revolution is finally here! There will be SF Performance sponsored riders in many classes, come on out and cheer them on! You might even see this old man throw a leg over my 450. 8/26/08 - The guys rode well, the competition is unbelievable, tons of talent in both classes. James made the Sunday show and rode very well but ran out of steam in both moto's, he hasn't been able to ride much this summer with all of his injuries. Scotty, JR and J. Six headed out east and J. Six main the show at Southwick with 35/30 moto finishes.... Great Job Johnny!! Good luck to all of you at Steel City! 8/15/08 - WE ARE OFF TO MILLVILLE, SFPERFORMANCE HAS 5 RIDERS AT THE PRO NATIONAL THIS WEEKEND. TO GET SOME TRACK TIME IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL BE HEADING TO THE NUKE RACE SUNDAY. COME OUT TO BYRON AND WATCH ALL THE SF PERFORMANCE RIDERS IN ACTION! 6/3 - Sunday was round 4 of the Byron Nuke series, Congrats to all the SF Performance riders that dominated the event, sweeping the top 4 spots in the 450 A and top 3 in the 250A, along with top finishes in the 50's, 65's, 85's, and 14-24. Great job guys!!! 6/2 - Spoke with James yesterday and looks like he is going to skip High Point. While his arm is healing very well he just won't have enough seat time to be 100%. 5/15/08 - James' arm is healing very well and he is able to train and work out and it looks like we are on track to race the High Point National at Mt. Morris. 5/5/08 Congrats to all the SF Performance riders at the MC Motopark Pro-Am. With Cameron Lansing and Jonathan Six sweeping the 1st two overalls in the 250 Pro class and Derek Whitney winning moto 1 of the 450's (2nd moto didn't go quite as well), SF Performances' dominance was again felt. GREAT JOB GUYS!!! 4/18/08 - James' sugery went well and he is at home with his family resting. 4/17/08 - SFPerformance rider James Povolny is undergoing surgery today to put a plate in his arm after a first turn crash in the 450 LCQ at the Detroit Supercross. James suffered a broken arm and a concussion in the crash. He is in great spirits and can't wait to get back racing, he is planning his return to be the national at High Point. I will speak with James in a couple of days and post an update. Been a while (sorry). Just got home from Detroit, what a weekend! WOW...Reed's crash, Canard not getting his bike started, Povolny breaking his arm, and Cameron qualifying 41'st and just missing the night show on his 18th b-day....so close, What a bummer. JR struggled a little on a VERY technical track, but him and Cameron will give em heck in St Louis next weekend. As for James, he will be out for several weeks, just got off the phone with him and sounds like surgery on his arm, at least thats what he wants, so he can get riding ASAP. We will get his bikes set up for outdoors while he is healing, although we will miss the opening rounds we will hit as many outdoor nationals as we can. Atlanta was the opening round for SF Performance Racing, JR had a bad start with a crash in the first timed practice and got a concussion and was advised by the medics (and Jim Sr.) to call it a night. James had an awesome ride going in heat 1, as you may have seen on CBS sunday morning, but with only three laps to go while in 5th place he came up a little short on a difficult triple and went over the bars. James almost holeshoted the LCQ but went down in the sandy first turn trying to tuck inside for the lead. Although the results may not show it James and his SF Performance KX450 looked AWESOME. Indy, HEAR WE COME!! Derek and Cameron are out of the opening rounds of the east coast supercross due to injuries. James Povolny and JR Garrett are ready to tear it up in Atlanta. Stay tuned for results and more info!! Congrats too James, Cameron and Derek for a GREAT job at the Sears Centre. SF Performance was a dominating force in the Pro classes. Also a big congrats to Alex Nagy and Bailey Stefka for there great performances on there SF Performance tuned bikes (special thanks to TZ for that!!!!!). Alex has totally dominated the 65 class at every Arenacross he has been to. GREAT JOB GUYS!! SF Performance Racing is proud to announce they have signed AMA Pro rider James Povolny to ride for them for the '07-'08 season. James, along with SF Performance AMA Pro riders Derek Whitney, Cameron Lansing and JR Garrett will be riding the AMA Arenacross Series as well as East Coast Supercross and Select Motocross events. We are very excited to have someone of James' level and who is as well respected in the industry as James is, riding for us. | ||
